教学目标: 1. To help the students with their confusion on how to learn English and analyze the structure of Texts; 2. To learn about foreign culture; 3. To master the key language points and grammatical structure in the text; 4. To conduct a series of reading, listening, speaking and writing activities related to the theme of the unit. 教学重点、难点: 1.Language Points(语言知识) (1)Key words& Expressions(重点单词和短语) confidence, linguistic, inferiority, complex, presence, cure, acquire, opportunity, superhuman, achievement, vocabulary, volume, process, require, remain, minority, gain, relearn, repeat, elude, constant, repetition, philosopher, negative, convince, erase, notion, adopt, positive, therein, communicate,in sb’s presence, get rid of, be afraid to, rather than, help sb to do, build vocabulary, gain confidence, write down, start with, look up, bring to, convince sb that /of, negative, thinking, communicate with,isolated sentence(Text B),depend on (Text B), amount to(Text B); (2)Key Grammar and Structures(重点语法及结构) a. Not until you begin to think in English rather than Chinese can you be said to know the language. (倒 装句) b. Of 10 new words learnt in a day, only two or three will remain in the memory. c. It is recommended that you read some books classified by level of difficulty. d. re- 前缀(构词法) 2. Sentence Interpretation(难句精析) (1)This is situation where you worry that you won’t be able to speak as well as the other person, so you feel inferior in his presence. (2)Not until you begin to think in English rather than Chinese can you be said to know the language. (3)Don’t be angry when you learn a new word today and forget it tomorrow. (4)Of 10 new words learnt in a day, only two or three will remain in the memory. (5)It would be better to prepare yourself a notebook so you can write down the important words or structures in it. 教学方法和手段: multimedia, Student-oriented communicative teaching, free discussion. 主要教学内容及教学过程设计: Part One Intensive Reading Step One 导学+pre-reading (listening, watching, discussing) (25 mins) 1. To advise the students about the teaching plan and info about examination; 2. To know their English command; 3. To tell them the importance of English help them to realize their problems in leaning English. 4. To arouse their interest in learning English. Step Two While- reading(fasting reading, skimming&scanning) (25 mins) 1. Language Points (语言知识); 2. sentence interpretation (难句精析); 3. Analyze the structure of the text; Step Three Post-reading (50 mins) 1. To complete the exercises; 2. To teach the students to speak, think and write in English through finishing exercise. Part Two Extensive Reading (100mins) Part Three Listening ( 50 mins) Part Four Oral Practice (50 mins) 1. To practice in pair or group; 2. To present in front of classmates. 复习思考题、作业题: 1.
